Video feedback/learner response

1) Type up your feedback from your teacher.

WWW: good editing, good song choice and use of monochrome
EBI: Faster editing for the contrapuntal sound

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students - you can summarise key points if several students give you similar feedback.

WWW: Funny, Good use of videos and images, Nice prom videos, Good song
EBI: Faster pace for contrapuntal, low resolution images and pictures not framed properly

3) Now reflect on your work and write your own evaluation of your video. Write a 'What went well' (WWW) paragraph and a paragraph for 'Even Better If' (EBI) underneath the rest of your feedback.

WWW: I think that the for the first part which is the parallel sound bit was really good and the cuts and editing to the beat of the song was really good. I think that the use of videos was really good and fit well with the song which was a party and upbeat song. I think that for the second part of the clip which was the contrapuntal sound the images were very contrapuntal and the images matched each other very well.

EBI: I think that the resolution of the images could have been better and some of the images did not fully fill the screen so the framing was not really good. For the contrapuntal sound part at the end I think that the images should have moved quicker and some of the images were up longer than others so it was not smooth or aesthetically pleasing to watch.

4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video?

I really liked Olivia's video and how she used personal videos and I think that I could have made my contrapuntal sound part look more smooth

I liked Laiyla's video and how the contrapuntal sound was clearly the opposite of her parallel

I liked Gurleen and Rukihya's and how all of their images fit together really well

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?

I have learnt that sound can communicate a lot of meaning and can add meaning to a scene but also change the whole meaning of a scene. I think that sound is really important to effectively communicate something to an audience.
